I was walking through Barneys this weekend and came across a Valentino bucket bag covered with fringe. Totally trend right, gorgeous leather, but also came with a $1,900 price tag. Ask my friend Ann (with whom I was shopping) and she’ll tell you my motto is to “Invest in basics, not trends.” And I am sorry, but fringe is a trend. Next year that Valentino bag will only belong in your kid’s dress up bin. So buy fringe, but buy fringe for the right price. Exhibit A: the navy fringe tee from the Fashion Lane Truck (under $50!) as well as the priced-right options below. Don’t get me wrong, if you are reading this and in the position to buy a $2,000 fringe bag, please do, but then click on the Contact Me section of this blog and let’s talk about advertising.
