I used to be an avid reader, then had kids and things came to a screeching halt. Don’t judge, but most days the captions in my US Weekly were all I took in and I’d pick up Vanity Fair if I was feeling particularly cerebral. So when friends decided to start a book club a few years ago, I wasn’t sure I could keep up. As it turns out, the little push was all I needed. The book club rekindled my love of reading and now I not only read our book of the month, but usually another as well.
We’re always on the hunt for new, book-club-worthy picks, so thought I’d share some of my faves in case you are in the same predicament. Please note, these books are not necessarily the best that I have read for book club (Flight Behavior and All the Light I Cannot See would make the top of that list)… these are the ones that elicited the best conversation among us 5 moms, largely because of the role women played, good or bad.
Got a recommendation? Comment, please!
I absolutely loved All the Light I Cannot See (read it in bookclub too), At the Water’s Edge, and Go Set a Watchman. I like your list here and have to check these out. Thank you for sharing!
