I am pretty sure everyone loves a good bargain. Which is exactly what you’ll find when shopping St. Louis’ premier designer resale store, The Vault (and their sister store The Women’s Closet Exchange). Below I’ve styled three Spring looks with clothes found at The Vault – one casual, one formal, and one for a night on the town. The outfits are great, the prices even better – $29.99 for those Seven For All Mankind Jeans and $59.99 for that Rebecca Taylor sundress?! Too good to be true.
The buyers at the Vault pride themselves in offering brands you love (Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, just to name a few) in pristine condition. I can attest. As someone who has tried selling things to the Vault in the past, the buyers are very particular about the items they accept and edit the clothes before they even hit the sales floor, thereby making their customers’ lives easier.

You might recognize the store from the 2013 Reality TV series, Resale Royalty, in which owner Sue McCarthy and her daughters, Diana Ford and Laura Maurice, give viewers a glimpse into running such a fashionable family business. While the show is no longer in production, the trio still travel coast to coast shopping the closets of socialites and fashionistas. These closet cleanses’ supplement the already thousands of items per week that are brought into their two St. Louis area locations.
McCarthy also has a strong philanthropic arm and believes in “paying it forward.” Her store’s contribute to such organizations as The National Council of Jewish Women, St. Vincent De Paul, Helping Hand Me Downs, Institute for Family Medicine and Dress for Success. Most recently, the store announced a “First Friday” collaboration with the St. Louis Fashion Fund…in which The Vault and The Women’s Closet Exchange will donate all profits from the first Friday of every month to the St. Louis Fashion Fund… as if you needed a better excuse to shop (and yes, they ship)!
