I’d seen and heard of Rocksbox before by virtue of being on Instagram. Feels like every blogger is promoting it and if I’m being honest, I hadn’t had a desire to try it out because it seemed like the jewelry wasn’t my style nor was it very unique (Kendra Scott tassel necklace anyone?). But then Rocksbox contacted me and asked that I give their site a try. So I did. And bottom line: I’m into it. You can curate your own Rocksbox by virtue of answering their style questionnaire when signing up, so if tassel necklaces aren’t your thing, you won’t get ’em. The questionnaire asked things like: “Are you looking for day or evening jewels” “Which of these two necklaces do you prefer?” “What is your ideal date night outfit?” “Do you wear silver, gold, etc?” Then a stylist matches your answers to their inventory.
In addition to filling out the short questionnaire, you also fill out a wish list of items you’d like to see in your next Rocksbox. There’s no guarantee you’ll get all your wishlist items the first time, but maybe one or two. I signed up and my box came within days. I received one item from my wishlist and two that were not. In my box, I found a Jenny Bird Crescent Necklace (on my wishlist), a House of Harlow Deco Gold Cuff, and Kendra Scott Amazonite Earrings. The earrings I’m not so into, but the cuff and necklace I have almost not taken off since the package arrived. The best part, if you ask me, is that you aren’t totally sure what you’re going to receive. Who doesn’t like to get a little surprise in the mail (even if you are the one paying for it).
Rocks box is $19 per month. Keep the jewels as little or as long as you like, but when you’re ready for a refresh, just send everything back in the pre-addressed return box they provide. Free shipping both ways. If you really like something they’ve sent you, and want it to be yours forever, just keep it and you’ll be charged an insider price – roughly 20% off retail. The things they send aren’t designer jewels, but also not stuff you’ll see at Claire’s. Think mid-level jewelry in the $50-$100 range.
Try it out for a month and see for yourself. Here is the link to their website and if you use code: caradisefoundxoxo at check out, your first month is free. Consider it a Mother’s Day gift from moi!
Love the concept, Cara. I’m going to keep it in mind as a gift (several months)…fun, different. Thanx for finding.
