Growing up, I owned a pair of Dr. Scholl’s classic sandals. A wooden footbed with a small buckle strap and nailhead rivets. You know what I’m talking about, right? Mine were white. And usually paired with a denim skirt, a slap bracelet and my charm necklace. I was hewt.
Then after college, I bought the shoe again, this time the Burberry version of the Dr. Scholl’s original. I wore them to death. Dressed them up and down. The only reason they are still even in my closet is because the sole is so thick, made of wood and not easily destructible. So imagine when I saw the same shoe in J. Crew’s catalog this Spring. There they were in all their 80’s glory. I didn’t need to buy, just dusted off the ones in my closet and started wearing in lieu of my summer flip flop. Throw them on with capris, skirts, bermudas. Your toe’s stay cool and you look a more put together than had you worn those flip flops. Don’t have to bend over to put them on. Just slide and go. Think of them as the fashionista’s croc. A total win-win.
