Waging War With My Closet

Seems like I’m fighting with all of my tops lately. I tossed the bodysuit, am annoyed by my off-the-shoulders (remember this?) and now have yet another grievance for my closet. Flared sleeves. Bell sleeves, call them what you will. I call them a huge mess. Literally. Because I find that they gather little bits of everything  they come near: food at dinner, hand soap in the bathroom, even makeup as you’re getting ready. Style Mafia Mecca

Top here and here and similar (cheaper!) version here // Bag // Bangles here and here

Last December we were in Miami and I made my annual pilgrimage to the Wynwood Walls (remember these?!?). This tee has been the perfect fall transitional piece. I wear it with leather leggings and booties or black jeans and sneakers. The little ruffle detail on the neck and hemline make it extra special. And at $55, it won’t break the bank.

I don’t usually write about clothes that I wouldn’t really wear, but this top is bucking the trend. It’s from a favorite label, Style Mafia and online I thought it had real potential. It’s a one-size-fits all, poplin button-down, but with an edgy cut that nicely covers my bum. Comes complete with a sash that you can tie any way you like. Think artsy meets preppy. Here it is on me, styled with some distressed denim and strappy heels. What do you think?
